Discussion Board: A discussion board is an
online forum for holding discussions and posting content in
threads within the forum by users (students and instructors).
Messages in discussion boards are displayed either in
chronological order or as threaded discussions.
Users can have their overall participation in a forum
graded. A forum is an overall topic that is to be discussed.
This option creates a column in the Grade Center and requires a
Points Possible entry when the forum is created. Users can be
graded on a Thread-by-Thread basis. A thread is a sub-topic in
a forum. This option creates a column in the Grade Center when
the Discussion Board manager creates the thread. If threads are
graded, members cannot create new threads.

Journal: A journal is a blog provides a
personal writing space for students to self-reflect and have
private communication with the instructor.

A wiki is a collaborative content item that allows the
creation and editing of unlimited interlinked webpages. Anyone
with access to the wiki can edit it. A wiki is a website
comprised of one or more pages that allow different users to
add and edit content collectively. New pages can be added to
the homepage and linked together.
